Summer Showcases - part 1
This July and August, we’re delighted to present our summer showcase evenings — and we can’t quite believe how lucky we are to have such a high-quality line-up of acts visiting the folk club.
You can also have your say: Across the two showcase nights, six acts will perform for you, and your votes will help us choose favourites to return for a double-header night in January.
For our first showcase evening on 10th July, we’re very pleased to welcome:
Uncle Pleb
Uncle Pleb (Lifelong friends Steve Black and James Dennis) are a duo from the North West of England. Their original songs, telling of strange characters and heroic deeds, serve to both move and amuse the listener.

Rossignol
Staffordshire-based Rossignol deliver imaginative interpretations of traditional and contemporary music from the British Isles, France, Scandinavia and beyond. Alan Wylie, Jane Hinks and David Barker create a unique sound on melodeon, guitar, hurdy-gurdy, hammered dulcimer, fiddle and concertina, ideal for a discerning concert, club or festival audience. Rossignol also play for ceilidhs, but there is no requirement to dance during a concert set!

Ash Mandrake
