Tim Edey's
CELTIC CHRISTMAS
Tickets £12
Dec 13th 2024 7:45pm (doors 7:15)
An evening of Celtic Christmas music from multi-award-winning folk musician Tim Edey. Originally from Broadstairs in Kent and of Irish descent, Tim Edey honed his style learning from his father Richard, himself a fine guitarist, and listening to Ed Boyd, Steve Cooney and Django Reinhardt. After seventeen years of hard work, Tim is now a name on the global stage in his own right, rated by many to be one of the finest melodeon and guitar players on the folk and contemporary scene today. Tim Edey’s Celtic Christmas will feature Tim performing seasonal music from a range of traditions reflecting his globe trotting influences: the beauty of The Wexford Carol; the passion and stunning musicality of The Galician Carol; the Christmas Tree fun of Ding Dong Merrily on High; Tim’s take on Howard Blake’s classic The Snowman; the poignant surprise of his version of Fairytale of New York; and much more. Don’t miss this evening of passion, beauty, fun and surprises from a master musician.

Liz Simcock + Stonesthrow
Tickets £12
Jan 10th 2025 7:45pm (doors 7:15)
Liz Simcock is one of the country’s finest female singer songwriters. Her songs – often autobiographical and highly personal – are immediately accessible to audiences and injected with poetry, emotion and splashes of humour. Stonesthrow combines the strong lead vocals of Tony Fowkes with the natural harmonies of Steve & Julie Wigley. The Derby based trio perform mainly acapella, with their set spiced by the occasional song featuring Julie on accordion and Steve’s guitar. Their choice of songs ranges from the traditional working songs of the sea and the land to contemporary songs of family, love and loss, providing a rich variety of material for their three part harmonies. Liz Simcock and Stonesthrow were the winners of our Potteries Folk Club 2024 Summer Showcases! Congratulations!
